About The Event
UOCA 2025 Tour Pilgrimage to India
This delightful spiritual adventure to India, lasting a full month, will take a small group of Ascension devotees led by Dhyan to South India, visiting the Isha Ashram near Coimbatore (day 1-4), then flying to tour the Dutch Jewish city of Cochin, a boat tour of the beautiful birdlife of the backwater wetlands (day 5-6). Going onto an Ayurvedic Retreat where Panchakarma, Indian massage and relaxing healing remedies will rejuvenate your body (day 7-11).
From there the party will head by houseboat along the mellifluous canals and lakes of the backwaters (day 12) to arrive at the Amma Ashram by the Arabian Sea (day 13-16) to receive dashan from the hugging mother. We’ll go to the beach resort town of Varkala (day 17-19) to relax on the beach.
From there it will be a scenic drive to Sivananda ashram up in the hills to do yoga and pray (day 20-23), then it is a quick flight to Pondercherry and a visit to this quaint colonial former French city to explore Auroville, meditate in the dome and transcend in this galactic eco-community (day 24-28) and we will finish off at the amazing spiritual city of Tiruvannamalai with its amazing ancient temples to pay homage to Ram Krisna and walk round the mountain of Annamalai on the full moon (day 29-31).
There will be daily early morning yoga and evening meditation that you are expected to attend. The group is expected to remain together and be cohesive and supportive of the programs and attend them all including group meals, even if there are minor alterations to the schedule due to the nature of India and its mysterious nature. We will endeavour to keep it as close to the itinery as possible however it will be monsoon season. Bring rain gear and umbrella. There will be heavy rain followed by sunny breaks and quite humid and hot. It will be out of season so not crowded with tourists giving more time for inner reflection. Bird life will be abundant - bring binoculars. This is a pilgrammage and not a holiday - though there will be plenty of time to relax, have time to yourself and to go within - as long as you follow our guidelines.
No meat, alcohol, drugs are permitted to be consumed on the trip. You are expected to behave respectfully at all ashram and holy sites including covering your body as appropriate. Please treat the Indians courteously and realise the cultural differences and income disparities even if they appear rude or dishonest. Always inform us before going anywhere alone.
We’ll fly back to Australia or you can continue the adventure in India as you please. For cost and more info please register. Internal flights, houseboat and travel included as well as most meals and all accomodation and Ayervedic treatment. Flight from Sydney additonal cost.
